Russell McCoy of Hannibal, Missouri, was diagnosed with diabetes about 10 years ago. Russell eventually developed problems with his vision and four years ago discovered he was suffering from Diabetic Macular Edema (DME). DME is a complication of diabetes that can eventually lead to permanent vision loss. Russell received treatment for DME and went about his daily life. Russell’s A1C level and weight were both up and he realized it was time for a change towards better health and management of his diabetes. Russell tried dieting and would find himself losing weight, but as soon as he stopped the diet the weight would come right back.

Anna Tegg is no stranger to delivering babies. She has five children of her own and has been studying to become a doula for the past few years. However, the birth of her last child in August 2023 was a unique experience thanks to the new laboring tub recently installed in the Chris Coons Women’s Center low-intervention birthing room.

After Angela was released from Hannibal Regional Hospital in late January, Ashley Hays, BSN, RN, Care Manager for Monroe City patients, made a follow-up call to see how things were going and how she could assist Angela with her care. Little did Angela know this would be a catalyst moment in her recovery and quality of life.

During October, the TPFY raised funds through their Pinktober promotion to support cancer patients at Hannibal Regional. These funds provide cancer patients at Hannibal Regional valuable resources such as assistance with rent/mortgage, utilities, transportation or groceries and other care items like nutritional supplements to support them while they focus on their battle.

The Chris Coon’s Women's Center at Hannibal Regional Hospital recently upgraded their low intervention delivery room with a state-of-the-art laboring pool.

After a sudden experience with difficulty breathing Jim Lierheimer was admitted to Hannibal Regional Hospital with a collapsed lung and several liters of fluid. It was ultimately determined that this was a result of mesothelioma, an aggressive and deadly form of lung cancer.
